Note: In Overwatch, you cannot select a play region instead, the game will place you into the best match based on your ping.
Once those regions undergo maintenance and patch as well, you will be able to play in those regions. When your client patches, you will be locked out of any other regions that have not yet received that patch. Choosing to play in a different region may negatively affect your connection to our servers. Your game progress is tied to your Play Region, and isn't shared across regions. By default, you will play in your home region, which is determined by your country of residence. To switch between Play Regions, click the globe icon dropdown button next to the Play button.
Americas for players in North America, Latin America, South America, Australia, and New Zealand.Global Play is available for all our games except for World of Warcraft.
holy fuck.Blizzard Global Play allows you to connect to game servers in regions outside your own, making it easy to play with your friends in other parts of the world. We have the server technology to implement wc3 style lobbies while also having fully joinable and hostable by anyone games, aswell as join in/out during game function, but blizzard one of the biggest gaming houses in the world can't match heroes of newerth. you can play fucking first person shooters in it for christ sake i remember nearly jizzing when they first showed it off and i imagined the insanity people would create in it.and then the game came out. and how one of them was so amazing it spawned the most popular genre of video game in the world. Imagine how sad the team that designed that fucking insane powerhouse of a custom editor is especially after witnessing the success of the first two. The truth is that thousands of peoples efforts were instantly raped to completion by the "xbox streamlined" arcade which is literally a pathetic stagnant leper of a fucking joke compared to join custom game in sc:bw and wc3. Overall sc2 is harder and faster, but imo makes more fun. Micro is hard for both, but i would say wc3 is a bit harder here. WC3 didnt have this weird elitism, thats one of the reasons its mapmaking scene appeared to be brighter, when in reality, SC2´s is just as good. Wc3 on the other hand has some mechanics that can be difficult too like unit countering and unit movement, because of their rotation speed. I guess thats a side effect of having SC2 pushed as this heavy E-Sport title.
Theres this weird elitism that has developed in the SC2 community that custom mods are for noobs and it seems to me alot of people actually take pride in knowing nothing about the Arcade and are just in it for the ladder game, which imo, is fucking stupid. If anything, the Starcraft 2 community has nobody to blame but themselves that they dont know about more of these amazing mods. And the Arcade is a great system for that. But beeing able to play your own mods on a reliable basis.
And that should be the main reason of making a mod - making something that YOU yourself want to play. In any case, speaking as someone who makes high-end, but very niche maps, the Arcade always allows you to get players for your mod whenever you want to play it. And it WILL get a community going if you support your game properlly and it has alot of replay potential. The Arcade then offers a great system for your mod to played and experienced in. The truth is, everytime a large SC2 mod is released the internet is all over it and it gets alot of attention. Dunno about Warcraft: Alliance and Horde. Starbow has small tournaments and a steady community. Proof: įirst of all, Starcraft Universe isnt even released yet and got a ton of recognition when it was in open beta and was played like all the time. Sorry but this is just bullshit and I am a high profile mapmaker.
